Correct on the above. It can be hard for a desk agent to have fluent knowledge of potentially hundreds of rate codes that are set up corporately and locally. In today's reduced staffing hospitality environment, information from the top down, training or reference resources are uneven to poor at best.

Do the front desk people have anything to do with this process? I would hope (I know), that the rate is coded int9 the system, and once you are checked in and out the points *should* post automatically.
If it's a rate that is truly local to a singular property then assume yes, the points will need to be posted manually on property. Don't underestimate how non-tech a lot of back office things still are.
