I think the key word in
IggySD‘s post was
value. I generally don’t value the hotel breakfast at the list price it is offered for because I consider it overpriced, sometimes laughably so. Since I don’t eat a full hot breakfast as you described it every day I am at home, I know that I will do fine with something smaller and simpler (and thus cheaper). And often when traveling I can find something more interesting than standard western style hotel breakfast at a local place for a fraction of the cost. Often my travel planning includes looking for nearby breakfast options that have good reviews and interesting food options. Could just be a local bakery (or bagel shop). Or a breakfast burrito from a nearby hole in the wall burrito shop.
