Somehow I believe the person who conjure up these rates (rate with bonus point or other kind of special rates) most of the time don't bother to update their FD properly and when guests check in with these special rates they just treat the reservation like normal.

Interestingly its usually happened in Marriott branded properties.
Did booked few of these kind of special rates at ALL Raffleses, GHA Kempinskis, and Capellas and no issue whatsoever.

I wonder if the system Bonvoy use cause this? no detailed rate information available to the FD who handling the check in.
