Had the Japanese option - steamed cod with sake. "White miso soup" was basically just hot water with tofu, scallions and mushrooms. Completely blend and not even a little taste of salt. FA said in the past 7 flights, many passengers have complained and they have wrote it up many times. The instructions were to add hot water, no miso at all. Sauce for the fish was just way too salty. Maybe it's to balance out the unsalted soup. The side appetizers were cold and almost frozen in the center. Rice was mushy. Compared to what was served as the Japanese option pre-COVID, this was just complete tragedy.

Plus, there weren't enough salads for everyone and the appetizer "Chilled ginger beef" was not even catered at all. FA didn't know that's on the menu until I asked about it. What's worse, we were delayed for 2.5 hours waiting for meal components to be loaded (and dealing with a mechanical issue that was resolved in 30 mins). The plane has been on the ground for 20+ hours since last flight so they should have plenty of time to load the meals correctly.
