No luck for me. I went to choose the SWUs when we got the email some weeks ago but saw that they would expire a year after they were selected. So I thought I'd wait until closer to the 30th but left for a long trip a few days before that (on AA) and forgot. I too am a bit peeved that there was no further communication closer to the expiration. I emailed today and got a fairly quick response (probably automated) that they would not "extend the validity of these rewards" and that I should be excited about all the rewards I could earn this year.
Absolutely my fault for forgetting but it still stinks that they set it up so that it was easy to forget. They probably build some % of unclaimed rewards into their calculations when figuring out what to offer and calibrate their communications accordingly.
Mine also posted today. Phew! I recommend you call the service desk and see what they can do. Elevate to a supervisor if needed - that’s what I did (but I did call them on the 31st). They will eventually close the door on one time exceptions, but I’d think its still too soon for that and they will still open it if you knock loud enough.
