You should definitely reach out and mention specific places you're interested in. We had a week long stay split between the St. Regis and Park Hyatt and the Park Hyatt concierge was able to get us into the Polo Bar on a Saturday night after the St. Regis couldn't get us in there the 2 previous nights. We mentioned 3 or 4 places that were fully booked online and they came back with 2 options 45 minutes later. I was pretty impressed.
Well. We tried. My partner gave them a list with one easy option on it, apparently, so we got none of the hard ones and one resy booking forwarded to us that we could have just done ourselves. Polo Bar was impossible, we were told.
On the bright side - did get the "standard suite" upgrade which is, at least, spacious.
