Reporting in from the Ritz Carlton club on the 79th floor. Found a reasonable weekday award (43k for the basic room going for A$470++). Then it was an additional A$300 a night per guest for an upgrade to Club privileges. As with a RC, gold and platinums should not expect a substantial upgrade. With only 14 suites over 15 floors, this hotel will not even upgrade ambassadors to their suites. The good news is with rooms starting from level 65, even the entry Deluxe rooms are guaranteed a good view of the city, Melbourne weather permitting.

The wine list has a focus on locally sourced wines and liquors. Cordials from 730 to 930pm

Apart from some minor opening hiccups (jacuzzi not working!!), this could easily be one of the highlights in the Marriott portfolio in Australia.
