Standby Priority After Splitting PNRs with Non-Status Member

As the title suggests, I booked a flight for three on the same PNR as an EXP; my companions or non-status AAdvantage members. I selected MCE seats for free, and then I had AA split my wife off the PNR so I could submit upgrade requests for myself and my son (which I then give to my wife anyways).

We are now standing by on a flight tomorrow, I submitted for my son and I and we were put on as P1 and P2 out of a list of about 10. I then used my wife’s phone and put her on standby expecting to see her P11 and to my surprise, she is P3.

So I’m wondering if she still has inherited my priority since at booking she was effectively given EXP priority and benefits. I highly doubt with her non-status (she doesn’t even have Group 4/5 credit card stuff) and not so crazy LP spend that she’s just coincidentally three on merit alone.
