It seems like the confusion over using the Amex vs the Venture may stem from lounge employees trying to use Plaza Premium vs Priority Pass access with each card, and not with the card themselves; in other words, you should be able to use either card in theory to access the lounge at any time, provided you are specific about which program you're utilizing. But I'd bring both cards just in case!

A couple of key additions:

SkyTeam Elite + flyers on eligible tickets (such as Delta Gold, Platinum, Diamond flying on Delta international itineraries) should have access to the lounge during all hours of operations
Delta Diamond, 360, and DeltaOne customers apparently have access to the lounge on a temporary basis during certain times due to the closure of the old T2 Delta SkyClub
