When using AVIS as PC, I reserved sedans but also got nothing but pickup trucks/giant SUVs/minivans. I had tried several times to put a 'Only upgrades to sedans' or some such on my profile, but nothing helped - that's all I got each time. The last time, the desk agent told me that was always going to happen with PC - it was the dumping ground for the currently undesireable 'upgrade' vehicles, while no-status members got the sedans. That was the last time I rented from Avis. Unless work contracts or some such prevent you, I'd rent from another company that values repeat business; Avis is just chasing the lowest price infrequent travellers now.
