Just finished five nights here and overall quite happy with the hotel. Upgraded to a Grand Suite on the 41st floor which had stunning views. Although the suite was large and comfortable it just didn't feel right for some reason. If not for the exterior and public areas the suite had the feel of a suite that was twenty years old and had been recently renovated as opposed to a new build.
Had to access a hidden housekeeping panel in the floor to find extra power outlets.
Globalist Breakfast is still downstairs. Agree with Doppy and rota that it was just ok. The staff try but are just overwhelmed. The vast majority of guests were Russian Package Tourists with young families - just too many people for the staff to fully keep up.
Pool area was ok - would have preferred for the pool to be heated a couple of degrees more and having a non smoking area would also have been good - there was a lot of people smoking on the sun loungers.
Generally staff were all great.
Grand Club is now open and has an evening service from 6 to 8. The staff in the lounge are truly excellent and the lounge itself is a really nice space. Lounge offerings consisted of soup and three hot options which were different for all the 5 nights I was there. They do have a pattern though, one dish is always a meat dish (chicken satay, beef tenderloin, a lamb dish) the second was also a vegetable dish and the third was also a fried dish (so things like spring rolls etc).
They also had around 6-8 cold canapé type dishes, a sushi option, cheese, desserts, fruit etc so certainly quite a selection.
So despite a few minor issues a really solid hotel, also good to be in an area that is quite walkable (in spring).
