the same happened to me when my step-father had his stroke three weeks prior to our travel. they refunded his ticket and put mine on hold.

this was one of my first calls with BA call center (in Bremen). I was very thankful. and I knew I could rely on BA. that's why I kept booking tickets with BA. now im booking oneworld only
