Different BAEC anniversary dates between OP and husband could be the cause. I heard about a (cough) "friend" who earned some tier points for a redemption and because that friend's anniversary was between outbound and inbound flights, they did not earn enough in that year to attain status. Conversely, the friend's wife's anniversary was after the return, and therefore earned twice the tier points of the friend and reached bronze.
