I have every sympathy. I’ve seen elderly people struggle on the steps of such aircraft. Going down can be really hard for them to place their footing. It’s not as easy as larger steps used for a bigger plane or obviously a jet bridge.

Would the crew help with a bag?

I’ve only seen pax fall flat on their faces/backside once they touch the tarmac and it’s slippery.
