I stayed in a hotel in Elizabeth once, and both the hotel (which was a nice flag carrier sort- Holiday Inn or Crowne Plaza or the like) and the area were super grim. That said, if your only experience of London was the Bath Road Holiday Inn, or Slough, you'd probably not have much nice things to say about London.
