This was the worst D1 main meal I’ve ever had in terms of taste.
Amuse Bouche was just canned cocktail nuts that were majorly stale and rancid.
Salad was a random assortment of mostly carrots and onions. Soup was potato and leek, but served at a very unappetizing lukewarm temperature. It either needed to be much warmer, or much cooler.
I pre-selected the duck breast with chanterelle sauce after reading multiple good reviews of duck dishes out of Paris. This was so over cooked it was like a hockey puck. Flavor was horrible and extremely tough and dry. I mostly ate the vegetables and risotto.
For dessert it was either mini French pastries or the sundae. I selected the sundae (not pictured) and it was very good. The ice cream was partially thawed so was able to be eaten right away.
Pre-arrival meal was either a shrimp and potato salad or a ham and Comte cheese sandwich. I chose the sandwich and it was quite good! No complaints on the pre arrival meal. Made up for the bad main course.
Takehome message: Avoid the duck out of CDG.
Service was mediocre. The purser seemed to chat with obvious non-revs and didn’t seem to pay much attention to the revenue passengers. And no working entertainment system on a 10.5 hour flight made things even more fun.
