Opened in Feb 2012 this is a sleek, modern Courtyard in a downtown area. I really liked it.
There is a small lobby, with a bar and the bistro area. There is also a snack bar, and a paid coffee vending machine, although why anyone would pay for vending machine coffee when there is a grocery store attached to the hotel, and a Starbucks across the street is beyond me. But the vending machine takes Apple pay, so…thats good I guess.
The rooms have Kerug machines. We had a King Bed, and there is a couch in the room. A mini fridge and microwave are hidden in a credenza that sits over the heater. I loved the big walk in shower. Pump bottle shampoo and soap in the shower. I get why people hate this, but…whatever. There was bar soap too.
Paid Parking is $13 a day. If you are a cheapskate you can street park literally in front of the hotel on weekend’s for free.
Although Lansing is “sleepy” as far as city downtowns go, there is a LOT to do within walking distance. Several restaurants etc. Everything was open, even though no one was around. Its probably busier during summer and Baseball season anyway. There is a grocery store attached to the building and condos above it. There is a minor league baseball stadium in walking distance as well. This beats staying in a big box next to the highway any day.
The one thing I wonder is why is this a Courtyard and not an AC. It looks like an AC. Its in a downtown “hip” area, like an AC. I wonder how they make decisions like that.
Anyway. Stay here if you need to be in the area. 5 Stars.
