If you are going to book a flight that starts outside of your local area, make sure positioning flights are available/affordable before you pull the trigger. You don't want to pay £2K for a "cheap" flight starting in Dublin if it costs you £500 to get to Dublin (or you can't get there at all)
This is a very good point, currently deciding between an ex CAI to west coast or ex EU to HNL run. The CAI option is a few hundred cheaper and appears to give the better £/Tp ratio, however with the positioning flights at nearly £1200 for CAI compared to a third of that for, say BUD, the better value all in is actually the ex EU to HNL option.
