- What is your ALL status? Gold (soft landing from Plat)

- Were you (or for multi-stayers were you generally) happy with the hotel/stay? Yes, as usual

- Which room did you book and which upgrade did you receive? Booked Fairmont Gold King City, got upgraded to Fairmont Gold River view (I believe they are not obligated to upgrade Fairmont Gold rooms, I stay a few times a year here to be fair)

- How are the rooms? Typical Fairmont Gold room. quite spacious for the hotel. Sitting area near window makes it almost like jr suite. Mattress was so-so and bathroom is hilariously small.

- What was good and what was bad?

Good: I like everything about this hotel (especially the Quebec resident rates!), the staff is fantastic, the building itself is unique, the F&B options are quite varied (one of my favourite hotel bars in the world). The Fairmont Gold lounge is great, awesome views of the St Lawrence and the food options are solid. Only downside is cash bar which is unfortunately the norm at most lounges (not just Accor, I am IHG Diamond and it is the same for their properties) in Canada. Great location for tourists as well.

Bad: Mattress was bit lumpy and the prices have gone up up up!

- Did you get club lounge access? How was the lounge? N/A

- What about welcome drinks, welcome amenities or any other special perks? One drink voucher at check-in (which I traded in for a glass of champagne at the lounge, if not good for $33 at the bar), also got a bag of popcorn mix already in the room when I got there

- Value for $ or Vouchers? Paid almost CAN$400/night which right against my limit for Canadian hotels but the quality price ratio was there for me.
You got a Gold King Room for $400/night? Nice! I wish I had access to Quebec Resident Rates.

That brings up an interesting question. I have a niece living in Quebec City temporarily for school, that we were thinking of visiting over Easter. I'm not a Quebec resident, but if she was with us, I wonder if they hotel would accept that for the Quebec Resident rate?
