it's obvious, however, that if several flights worth of J PAX need to get onto one flight, someone is going to be disappointed. A cancellation is a different moral starting point than "AC just wanted to sell more tickets", as was the basic allegation of OP.
Sorry yes, i had to be on a specific flight to make it home for an important meeting. But I checked for the fare buckets on the widebodies that day and it indeed showed the flight I asked for was J0 at the time. I don't think anyone ended up clearing on the list at boarding either. I would find it hard to believe that they bumped any passenger for a lowly 50K like myself on an eupgrade, i wouldn't be surprised if a lowly rev passenger got bumped.
