Because you need to book the FHR rate.... you can't book a member rate, local promotion, group rate (room block) etc and expect to secure the FHR perks. Even if you call into Amex their agents aren't mandated to book anything but the FHR rate. The front desk agent was right to refuse and your employer needs to book via the FHR portal or via phone
