Barclay AA card $25 wifi credit not posting
I posted my experience in the newbie thread and was suggested to also post it here.
Earlier in December, I made an onboard wifi purchase using my Barclay AA card, which comes with a $25 wifi credit annually. To this day, my purchase still hasn't been reimbursed yet. Honestly, I've had my fair share of things not tracking automatically with different banks, but never imagined it could be this difficult with Barclay.
As of now, I have talked to them via chat, phone, and message, for a total of 5 times. Each time, I got a different answer. First it was 4 weeks, then it was 6 weeks, then it was "technical issue", then it was "submitting a ticket", and now it's "upgrading the system". I thought they could just manually issue a credit, but they refused to do so, and wouldn't even give me a timeline.
It's basically a bait-and-switch scheme at this point. Honestly, I only purchased the wifi because my card renewal was coming up and I don't have other AA flight booked before then, so the $25 was a use-it-or-lose-it credit. If I had known that it's this difficult to get it, I would've just forgotten about it.
I'm posting this experience here, to see if anyone is having the same issue and to warn other card holders to think twice about this benefit.
Sadly, I don't even know what more I can do, any suggestions? Maybe dispute the charge?
