Rant: escalator and moving sidewalk hogs in NYC airports
I really like the new LaGuardia terminal B, and JFK is fine, but for two things:
Both have lots of escalators and moving sidewalks. None have “stand to the right” signs. So hogs block them.
Yes, it’s faster to just walk quickly on the regular floor past a moving sidewalk. Yes, if you say “excuse me” and keep moving up or down an escalator, people get out of the way (and I always thank them when they do).
But is it too hard for the Port Authority to put simple signs on escalators and moving sidewalks: “stand to the right”?
Thanks for letting me vent.
