I don't know that we necessarily need AC to pay staff to circulate from gate to gate with a bag sizer ... but you do see individuals on almost every flight who have either a bag that's clearly way too big, or they simply have way too many bags, and those should be dealt with proactively. We're allowed one carryon and one personal item ... seeing people board with three or four bags should not be allowed, yet it seems to on a regular basis.
