I Flew LAX to SYD in D1 last week. The catering was horrendous. For the dinner I chose the Chicken Piccata. The chicken was so dry it was basically inedible. The braised kale was basically a slimy, unseasoned mess. The only real hit was the Calabrian chili caesar dressing for the side salad, it was quite nice. Dessert was the ice cream sundae, which was frozen so hard you could bounce your spoon off of it.
Breakfast was unremarkable as well. Dry eggs that tasted about on par with those from a Hampton Inn, an overly sweet sausage link and some decent hashbrown casserole.
On the return flight I was in Y and both meals were better than either meal I was served in D1. Pretty sad that outstation Y food can beat hub D1 food...
I have had that exact Chicken Picacata meal before and it has been very good minus the D1 soup with the addition of Cannolis.
Your does not look as good as mine did, I wonder if it was in the oven too long or something like that.
