They are Platinum AMEX and she swears that in the past, she was able to book directly with hotels and still receive the AMEX hotel benefits. Reservations were always in the primary card holders name and paid with the Platinum card.
Recently, they booked directly with the hotel (better rate), did not receive the benefits and hotel refused to budge. I see the current T&C's are clear, but wondering whether anyone knows when this changed.
