Reason I'm asking is that I got a mail saying that if I stayed a night by 31 March, I'd keep Silver (yeah I know...) - I've actually got a night tomorrow booked indirectly, so wondering if it's even worth pleading for it to be counted...

In my experience the third party bookings do not count for requalification ( you may or may not get other status benefits depending on the hotel)
