Yours Truly Washington DC - Vignette Collection (Master Thread)

Stayed here for 75k IHG points for 4 nights recently with the Chase 4th night free benefit before the points rates went up. Got the hotel to waive the amenity fee by requesting in advance over email.

Wasn't offered meal vouchers as IHG Platinum even when we asked about them at check in. On the third day we asked again and were told we could either have $20 to the dinner restaurant/bar Mercy Me or $30 to the breakfast deli Call Your Mother.

Didn't get much of an upgrade as we wanted a quiet room given some of the reviews on Google about how the music from the lobby can be loud and the only bigger rooms they had were on the second floor, so those were not an option for us. Okay, technically I think we got an upgrade as we got a 'courtyard view' room looking at a building, but it looks like they just made up the room category to control inventory and upgrades. Anyway, we're glad we didn't take the rooms on the second floor as on Saturday we could hear the music all the way up to the 7th floor, though it wasn't so loud that you'd have trouble sleeping.

The bathroom design is annoying as there's no shower door so water from the shower splashes on the floor. The rooms are on the small side with an industrial / concrete floor kind of look which we didn't love and seemed surprisingly scuffed around the edges for a new-ish/newly renovated hotel.

The hotel's location Foggy Bottom is convenient via public transit (subway or bus) for the National Mall. Georgetown is maybe a 15-20 minute walk. We liked the local chain Tatte opposite the hotel - good for breakfast and baked stuff.

Overall it was a heck of a deal for 25k IHG/night but less so now that the award rate is higher. Hard to believe the revenue rates it goes for... inflation!
