Confused about car rental coverage benefits

I should know the answer to this, but I don’t. Abd trying to call American Express has been pretty useless, which is surprising as they’re usually pretty great.

I don’t own or lease a car. I have a non-owner liability policy that covers liability when I rent a car. If I rent a car for an extended period which I do are usually use my Premium Car Rental protection, and pay the 1595 per rental.

however, and looking over my platinum business card benefits, it looks like I have car rental protection that is secondary to any insurance I have and that doesn’t cost any extra. Since I don’t have any collision insurance does this coverage then become primary if I refuse the car rental agencies collision insurance? I would love to be able to save adoes this coverage than become primary if I refuse the car rental agencies collision insurance? I would love to be able to save a little bit of money on the shorter rentals. Thanks for any help
