I currently have an overnight in Paris which I do not want and was not originally planned with the tickets I purchased.
I'm having a hard with the language barrier and the fact that they keep telling me contradicting things like 1) their policy is I can change the dates to +- 3 days if my flight was canceled and I was not rebooked on anything. When I asked the phone agent to look for another Paris to Athens flight, he came back and said that I was eligible for rebooking +- 3 days out even though originally he told me I could not.
So with that leniency, I asked if I could fly SEA to AMS to ATH to avoid Paris. He said he checked from April 1 to April 17 and there was nothing available SEA to AMS even though Delta flies that route twice a day, I think because there's no award availability?
I had no luck getting another Paris to Athens flight that would leave closer to my Paris arrival time so I'm not stuck in Paris for 24 hours. I'm also having a hard time believing this is my only option when the airline has canceled and rebooked me 3+ times now, changing dates to their whim but not letting me pick anything. Should I call back and speak to another agent? Each time is a 40 minute wait...
For a schedule change within two weeks of departure on an AF operated flight, EC261 rules should apply, even for an award ticket.
