Stayed 3/27. We were the 3rd guests to check in. Booked with a 40k cert.
Beautiful hotel - certainly at the standard of a JW in terms of appearances, finishes etc. Titanium upgraded to a Premium Deluxe Corner Guestroom with Balcony. Nice large room with "balcony", a stretch for even European standards of a balcony. Windows that opened and you could have half your body outside on a ledge. Nice to have the fresh air, but views of the alley way weren't the greatest. (Honestly would have been nice to get a better upgrade, occupancy was essentially zero. Not complaining, just saying)
Lots of new hotel hiccups as to be expected and likely will be ironed out in a few weeks. It took 30 minutes for them to figure out how to get our keys programed. We were told the fitness facility wasn't open, but we went down and it was and somebody was working out. Shower water temps were all over the place. Staff were very nice however just way to overbearing (I get it, first night everyone is anxious, but it was too much). Bar service was very slow. Bar menus had pricing errors printed throughout (glasses of wine were the same price as bottles, etc.) The décor and finishes at the property were very nice, but I don't see how they are going to hold up. Leather lined elevators, while beautiful, won't last very long. Already stains on the carpet in the hallways.
Breakfast was very good. Charcuterie and cheeses cut on demand along with buffet and made-to-order options. We were told (after the fact) that breakfast for the second guest was not included and we had to pay 45 Euros. I didn't feel like haggling at the table and decided to bring it up at checkout. At checkout, we were told breakfast was included without even asking. I never got an emailed folio, so we'll see if they charged my card or not.
Would we stay again? For a 40k cert, yes. For the rack rate of ~500 Euros, no way.
