I also got this text departing MCO yesterday. There did not appear to be any changes on arrival at the gate. I preboarded as a 1K and the order up to group 1 was the same.
Feels like if there is any change it is allocation of lower groups. I seem to remember reading something recently about Groups 3/4/5 being allocated to Window, Middle, Aisle respectively (in the absence of status that would provide an earlier group). Perhaps it was that but on a 777 with only 60 seats in Y occupied it likely didn’t make much difference to the boarding time…
