I would recommend you apply this advice to everything in life. If you can pay yourself and get reimbursed without fear of getting stiffed, always pay yourself.

My company has a corporate Lyft account, but they dont care if I use my own cards and submit for reimbursement, so I always book it myself. Same with using a corporate card for meals when I work late, I just use my own.

I can use WageWorks to buy my monthly commuter bus pass, or I can buy it myself, get 3x Chase points, and be reimbursed before the credit card statement closes. I always buy it myself.
