Silver here traveling with 2 other family members (both GM). It is a domestic trip, Q fare, and we are all on one PNR. Not sure if it matters, but Tickets were Booked entirely using FFCs. Though I do have an Explorer card.

I understand I will need to call in to split the reservation if I want to be eligible for CPU. I also know the chances of that clearing are probably pretty much zero, so it may not be worth the trouble for that. However, the free E+ seating at check in for two of us is something I do want. Does the reservation need to be split for that? And if I split the reservation, will the separated companion (s) still be able to get the free baggage benefit?
