Just a reminder that there are downsides to booking through these OTAs. I’ve been pursuing an issue stay with RM for over half a year, where they’ve promised me the refund had already been sent, etc. Now in the 11th hour they’re refusing compensation and my ability to chargeback the property itself has passed.
Today they offered me an alternate compensation package to walk away from the issue - a whopping 1k miles.
This can happen with any merchant (including booking directly with the hotel). If you are due a refund, file a dispute before the deadline (which is based on the date you are supposed to stay, not the purchase date).
At this point your only recourse is SCC.
