I think it helps if you mix in other purchases so it looks like you're a regular shopper. Also in the day time when it's busier.
I have a feeling the VGC purchases don't show up on their phones. Reason being a csr came up to me when I was scanning all my purchases and VGCs...but he only pointed out that I missed a scanning a yogurt in my rush to finish asap. I think he would have pointed out the few thousand in VGC purchases if they showed up on his phone.
Second time I did get caught. got greedy with not mixing in enough purchases and went in night time when it was empty
