Stayed last night at a Hilton in Charlotte due to the airline's issues.

Was a bit surprised to hear that Diamond status doesn't apply to any upgrades/vouchers, etc.

Not on this forum much, apologies if addressed before, but are there any benefits to asking for a Hilton as opposed to just "the closest to the airport" in these events?
