I would suggest QF WP you shouldn't assume posters to this forum are lacking knowledge of "how things work" - you might be surprised at the identity of many posters and how much they do in fact know.
NM was referring to INTL flights, as I was referring to "lounge upgrades" obviously I am referring to Domestic ODUs.
ODUs do not come from any sub-class of J, once a flight is closed any J seat is available for ODU.
And I was not referring to duty travel as that is "confirmed" not "stand-by".
My beef is the blocking of J seats for staff stand-by travel at the expense of revenue passengers requesting ODUs.
I can assure you it does happen, its happenned to me and quite a few of my associates many times, although it will be denied by the company.
I have brought this matter up with QFFF several times in the past, but as its a staff perk, my complaints are never taken seriously.
