There is lots of discussion about this in the main thread.

The terms say roundtrip but I don't think you would have an issue with a one-way, again see below thread for some commentary.

However, the rebate is valid for up to 2 pax on a single reservation. If you book your tickets one at a time they cannot be combined after the fact into a single PNR. Not possible.

So the rebate would only be valid for your ticket, not the 2nd ticket you would book later, and definitely not for any tickets booked from your wife's account.
