But if you know which hotel you want to book, you can still click on the link near where it says rate unavailable where it brings up a calendar, and you can reselect the same dates and get it to show the rate.

Another way that seems to work sometimes is to not select a special rate at first and then edit the search once on the individual hotel pricing page (that has the different room types, etc.).
