Great experience with the “change flight” feature to go from J to F on HND- LAX

very trying experience to add a simple stopover (LAX-SFO).

Ask for partner liaison, much resistance (in trained, we aren’t supposed to). Transferred so someone who wasn’t really knowledgeable. Said if I can’t price it, I can’t sell it. “I’ll be fired”. Didn’t know why it couldn’t be priced. I pressed for a reason, she the checked with her “partner lead” and came back with ‘there has to be availability in all segments”.

I then asked to speak to the partner lead- resistance but she finally did. He explained it was a JAL requirement but then realized calling JAL was easier than dealing with me and within 5 minutes hit it done.

combinstion if ignorance and laziness caused it to take 30 minutes trayhervthsn 5. Still worth it, but are up a lot of my calling plan.

I guess the magic words are “ I need to speak to the partner lead because it requires a call to JAL” if it’s a change to add a layover.
