Just so there's no confusion, Alitalia no longer exists. ITA is more or less Alitalia, though, and if someone sold you an Alitalia ticket its going to be on ITA (they even have the same airline code). So look for those counters in Terminal 1. You'll generally see a big board with the names of the airlines and the number of the checkin counter to go to. I haven't flown ITA since it was Alitalia, but it should be staffed.
