Crap. I cancelled a revenue flight a week ago and just noticed that the disclaimer on the email I got telling what would happen next says "Please allow up to six weeks for processing.".
My most recent experiences have been better than that, but I'm kicking myself since I could have just a refund to my CC. I just figured the voucher would be faster. Serves me right.
A naïve person might have expected AC to try to incentivize the use of travel vouchers, perhaps by making sure they were issued even faster than credit card returns ...
