Fired up FT for the PHX club thread and reviewed to make sure I wasn't crazy. I was already in "the big one that was renovated/brought up to AA brand standards" and it's REALLY embarrassingly little.
I don't want to hear any more complaints about CLT's 2: B club or crowded C/D club after visiting the clubs at PHX. Bad!
I agree... None of the three clubs are anywhere near the scale of a hub club for a major airline. The last time I was in Low A, they had opened the conference room up for seating, but the entire club was standing-room-only and the standing room was in the conference room, since standing anywhere else blocked the aisles. ...And the last time I tried to go to B they were recommending people go to Low A. Even when they renovated Low A, the seating was made more dense, but it wasn't enlarged -- it's still the same footprint it was in the HP days.
Regarding the history of the High A club mentioned upthread, it was built by HP before the US merger and was enlarged (if you all can imagine) soon after the HP-US merger. I guess the plan is to take over the remains offices and CS desk, taking it all the way from gate 19 to 21?
