In the same way PHL can’t replace JFK as AA’s main northeast TATL gateway, I don’t see PHX replacing LAX as their main west coast TPAC gateway. You need a relatively high amount of O and D in addition to connections to make it a primary gateway, and just like we see in PHL, I doubt PHX is ever gonna have enough TPAC O and D traffic. It could very well become a *secondary* TPAC hub, but knowing AA, there’s a good chance that endeavor could be botched before even getting off the ground (see SEA).
