That means no alliance benefits at all. The luggage allowance "flow through" applies to all single ticket itineraries. There is no need to be in an alliance for this.
UA updated their through check guidance to agents to allow checking bags through to EK (and FlyDubai) on separate tickets for any passenger. (same policy as being used for separate *A tickets).
