You can only use an EasyCard with credit card function for the HSR. Regular EasyCards that need reloading is not accepted. Frequencies for the MRT is about 2 to 5 mins depending on the time of the day, but the HSR is maybe 20 to 30 mins between rides, so you might end up faster (and cheaper) with the MRT. Regular railway is prone to delays.
