With AMAN, I've come to accept that it really comes down to the property management, in my view. If I understand the GM is great, I trust the experience will be great. And this is how I go about my visits. By the way, new manager at Sri-Lanka, young and very talented from Kora team. I am happy to see Aman sourcing via local talent pools and embracing those who are very talented: Norbu at Amantaka and Sonam at Amanwella.

I personally had the most wonderful stay in Bhutan this year, consistent service through all 5 properties. One of my favorite Aman experiences in the last 10 years. So all being said, it is still possible to experience the AMAN ethos we love and know.

Conversely, when I re-experienced Kila in 2022, the experience left me kind of disappointed, whereas, Amandari were far better than previous visit.

I second your statement on Amanjiwo and can confirm as of 2022, Amanjiwo STILL great, thanks to Jann. ........ however, they need to figure out the Borobudur closure thing.... can't wait to return.
I'm glad you had a great experience in Bhutan. I'm planning on doing the 5 lodge journey at the Kora for honeymoon next spring. So far I've only heard good things.
