Here's a great read on the tremendous impact of the automobile on downtown Salem (capital of Marion County as well) which played a crucial role in the creation of the new hotel. The report even reveals how the hotel got its name.

The second one that just opened is the Hampton Inn Redmond Bend Airport. The date was delayed by two years because of a fire in December 2020, just a week before the sprinkler system became operational.

The other ore. hotel that was to open this year as a Tapestry was the Saltline hotel in Seaside, on the Pacific Ocean. But this one has a rather strange progression. The hotel opened its doors and a short time later hilton.com reported that it would become a Tapestry around Christmas. By that time the date was then pushed back by 1.5 years to June 2023. Now another year has been added. Yet the hotel is doing business as usual, but not as a Tapestry. Perhaps they're waiting for the first self-serve station to open?

BTW Dit you know that in 1971 Oregon was the first state to ban non-returnable bottles and cans because these made up 40% of the roadside litter?
And I just found another one:

River's Edge Hotel Portland, Tapestry Collection by Hilton

Used to be called just the River's Edge. Not right in the city but a good location for those of us who drive north and south frequently (and LOVE not having to pump our own gas!).
