I never consider Southwest as a regular business traveler unless it's absolutely the only good option. The main thing is the lack of seat assignments. I know when I'm flying Southwest that I can't be the last to board like I am with every other airline. Having that flexibility is nice when I need to make the airport at the last minute or do a call before I board.
Setting aside row 2 for business select fares only would be a nice change.
Southwest usually starts boarding about 15 minutes before American is forcibly closing the door so I don't really see much of a difference. If I need to take a call, I'll usually take it on the plane while we wait to pushback (depending on the nature of the discussion and my role on the call). I appreciate Southwest's overall faster boarding and gate departure process but appreciate that everyone likes something different. Competition is a beautiful thing.
